Direct Hit! : Making Dudes Kiss For Cash & Pills + “Mutant Drunk” Live!

OK. So.

A few weeks back I was out at the Frequency in Madison checking out a band called Masked Intruder. It was awesome.

While I was there I figured I’d hang about and get some footage of another great Midwest punk band, Direct Hit! and alt-country badasses The American Dead.

Direct Hit! was playing and I figured I would grab one of the last songs, so I stepped outside for a breath of fresh air (i.e. a hand-rolled American Spirit) and when I come back in Nick Woods had managed to convince the audience to put up $60 + a bunch of Tylenol gel caps to get the bass and guitar players to make out on stage!

Shenanigans I tell you. Here’s a few pics from the set:

Luckily I got the camera rolling just in time to immortalize the hilarity. As a bonus, the song they played right after the spit swapping was pretty good too.

“Mutant Drunk” is the name of the tune, it’s a good’n. Enjoy.
