Some amazing friends including Harvest Walker, Man Mantis, and my lovely wife Jennifer got together a couple weeks ago and had a go at the 48hr Guerrilla Film Contest. We had exactly 48 hours to write, shoot , edit, and deliver a 5-7 minute film based on an assigned genre, line of dialog and “money shot” specified by the contest.
It was a blast, and one of the most challenging things I’ve done in a long time. Lesson learned: I edit at about 1/4 normal speed after 36 hours of no sleep.
Regardless, we are all very proud of what we accomplished in a short 48 hours, so please pass this video along as much as you can!
Our entry is called “A Little Chore” and tells the story of a man questing for his freedom from the debt he owes a local crime boss. When he is given a difficult choice, he has to decide whether his freedom is worth the price.
The hardest part of this whole thing was the edit, especially keeping the film at 7 minutes. that being said, a complete version is in the works just for the fun of it :)
All entries this year have a shot at winning the People’s choice Award, with a prize of $1000 to whichever team has the most views by June 6th. So if you feel like watching it over and over, please go right ahead :)
Big Thanks to The Frequency and Jade Mountain Cafe for letting us shoot in their establishments, it was awesome!
