Doomtree’s “Bolt Cutter” Video is Minimalist Gold

Doomtree has released their official music video for the single “Bolt Cutter”, off of the new album No Kings, and I for one absolutely love it.

Directed by Isaac Gale and Maria Juranic, “Bolt Cutter” is a very simple video that uses nothing more than what I guess to be a couple of hardware store worklamps and an old warehouse or building to set the dark tone and some spray paint.
Shifting shadows, dramatic angles, washed out colors and little else are used to beautiful effect, and the minimal editing style is nothing but well selected cuts. Mike Mictlan is especially dope in this one and really makes the video.

It’s amazing what can be done with next to nothing and good taste.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, No Kings is available now on itunes.
