Been a minute since I posted, but the last few weeks have been a whirlwind for me. I am happy to announce that I recently added Sr. Video Director for Get Your Buzz Up to my list of titles, and I’ve started traveling to capture all the action at the showcases.
Get Your Buzz Up, founded by veteran host and entrepreneur J Hatch and Mike “Mic Vicious” Trampe of HipHopDX, is a networking event and Artist showcase that brings in guest judges from the music industry for a night of performances and network-building.
Shah Evans (@MrGetYourBuzzUp) is the Mid-West representative and all-around right-hand man.
I just completed posting all the videos from an awesome showcase in Philly, PA with over 20 artists on the bill. Some really great performances happened that night, including featured performances from 2ew Gunn Ciz and Nico Da Beast. Below is the whole playlist so you can check out all the artists.
The winner in Philly was a dude called ROX (@roxvazquez215), and it was apparent (to me at least) he was going to win as soon as his track kicked off. He had the crowd going nuts, the song was catchy as hell, and he had very good stage presence.
Asides from a brief mic malfunction and a couple of vocal slip-ups, it was damn near perfect.
I’m super excited to be working with these guys and with the schedule in front of us for this year, it’s likely I’ll be filming well over 100 new artists by mid-summer.
