THE BAND SITE
The WordPress universe is huge. There are a ton of themes to style up a site and a ton of features that can be added to WordPress. That being said, not all of them are going to make sense for an Artist getting their feet wet running a website.
When I set up a Band Site for someone, not only do I load them up with the theme of their choice, but also a great set of features relevant to today’s independent musician.
Gig calendar? Check.
Video and Photo goodness? Of course.
Social Media integration? Yup.
A Music Player? Absolutely.
Plus, this is just the beginning. Once you’re set up with a functional WordPress site, the sky’s the limit. If you need a particular feature, somebody probably makes a plugin for it.
I’ve curated some of the best plugins and themes to give you a simple and effective way to help your website shine.
The Band Site Includes:
1. Up to 5 pages, one of which can be a blog (doesn’t have to be!)
2. Free theme of your choice (I can recommend one if your not sure).
3. configuration of header/logo/colors/layout, as long as your theme choice allows for all of those. If you want to ensure that kind of flexibility, I recommend going with either a Premium theme or the free themes Suffusion or Constructor. My site was built with Suffusion, and the customization options are nothing short of incredible!
4. Custom Favicon (the little picture that shows up on your browser tabs and address bar).

1. Fast Secure Contact Form – An easy embeddable contact form for fans or customers to get in touch, without having to give out your email or phone number
2. All-In-One SEO – One of the best search engine optimization tools available.
3. Google Sitemap Generator – creates a sitemap of your website, allowing all the major search engines to easily crawl your site and up your position in search results.
4. Gigpress – This is the coolest and easiest gig calendar around.
5. Share This – Social media buttons on every page or post, allows visitors to quickly spread the word. Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Stumble Upon, and more!
6. Lightbox Plus – Makes your images pop off the screen, fancy gallery style!
7. Tube Press – Amazing video gallery system that pulls in videos from YouTube or Vimeo. Check out my Video Archive for an example.
8. WP-Audio – A great looking audio player for MP3 files.

Free themes are great, but there are many Premium options that offer unparalleled control over your website’s design.
